I have had the same problem you have had, but I used a PayPal Debit Card. I canceled my service in late April, and they are still trying to leave messages on my cell phone. I am going to use a Block caller app on them, and for charging. I researched in advance about Clear's way of taking your money even after you have cancelled your service. So in advance, and for anybody looking into Clear's Internet:

-Use some sort of load debit card you can load to your specification. I used the Paypal Debit card for my purpose. For me, I just said to Paypal that I lost the card and the gave me a new one.

-Second, use a different e-mail address don't use their, so-called google email, if you do not like it.

-Third, if you are using a cell phone get a block caller app. There are a lot of free ones you can use to block calls even 1-800s numbers.

I used the internet for school purposes, but I lived extremely close to the cell tower that they were providing the signal, but I moved recently and the area that I am living now, is like a dead spot to Clear, even if the tower is closer to me than ever. I also, have to talk to the operator to cancel, and I expected that he did not know his job at all.

Worst internet provider ever. They still call me, and they have the gall to call me a delinquent because they are still charging, but since I changed to the card number on Paypal they can't do anything, but harrass on the cell phone, which I will block their calls sooner or later. Their calls are not hindering my life,....at the moment.

I am also being charged twice a month. I checked and saw that they reduced my monthly bill and was satisfied. When I began the process of changing my account I then noticed that it was twice a month. Well guess what? I'm not going to give them my new account number and they can just guess what happened to me.

I have had clearwire problems intermittently. And like everyone else....muey pissed off at their inability to resolve the problems, always say its a problem with my computer, or with my ethernet cables...I can't believe that I would have problems with 3 separate ethernet cables, the one that came with the modem and 2 brand new cables, trying them all on 2 separate notebook computers, and to no avail no internet connection. I am fully able to get online at a WiFI hot spot, but suddenly there is no way to access the internet through my Clearwire modem. I get a quick ieframe.dll and then no internet connectivity. and then they all act like it is a big surprise...that one minute I have what looks like valid internet connectivity, and then truly no connectivity. These people are crooks....

I just moved to Nashville and I've had Clearwire now for about 4 months... it's terrible. I can see the tower out my window. The problem is... I paid for 6 megabyte service. (UP TO...guess that's just a dream) I get on average, about .3. Sometimes, I almost get up to 1 meg...but just as often, I get .07 or less... and I pay $50 a month for this Crapwire...

I'm guessing they 'throttle' the speed back. When I first got on, I got 4 to 5 megabyes...then it went to hell...

I see there's a class action suit because of the practice... whatever, it's impossible to watch youtube, use my Magic Jack, or do anything other than send and receive email.. and only then if there's no attachments in it...

I had Charter cable Internet back in Indiana... A 10 Megabyte connection was $30...never had any problems...had it for 7 years... Now, I've got next to nothing and I pay $20 a month more... If there was an option, believe me, I'd be all over it...

This is the worst connection I've ever seen!

Another victim of throttling here. We purchased unlimited service and most of the time we're at dial-up speed. As I type this complaint, I have a video downloading. My current speed is a lousy 73kpbs!

It is this slow every single day and night!

We cannot watch streaming movies, YouTube or listen to streaming music due to slow speeds and constant buffering.

Most news pages contain videos and they take forever to load. For instance, yesterday a 3-minute news video took over 15 minutes to load.

When we complained to Clearwire, the service rep told us to point our modem at a different tower. Speeds improved until we downloaded a few movies. Then, wham, we were throttled back to dial-up speed.

I have been going around in circles with Clear tech for the last 10 days. When I bought into this BS company the sales rep expressly told me that the house I was moving to was in the middle of two of their towers and that I would possibly see speeds greater than 6mbps. Got to new home and I consistently get speeds of 0.51 down and 1.01 up. I have spoken with 15 agents so far with no resolution in sight. Unfortunately there are only 2 ISP in this podunk town. Clear is one and Hughes satellite is the other. Basically slim and none. Also I stayed up 24 hours and tested my connection every hour on the hour to see if I could determine this fabled peak time. Apparently every hour of a 24 hour period is peak time.

I guess I am not the only one that has had problems with Crapwire and their shitty service. I signed up for it and had it for 3 or 4 days and never could hook it up. I even tried to call tech twice and those idiots could not pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel! The first night that I had it the crappy modem worked for all of 5 minutes then died. I went back and got another modem and tried and it would not connect so I called tech again and he asked for the mac id of the new one so he could change it so it could work and guess what-it still did not work so I called billing to cancel my order today and after pissing around with their automated phone system I got a hold of a dipshit who said I called the wrong # and said it messed up their bottom line but he transfered me to billing so I could cancel. Gee whiz what a nice little asshole. I have neveir ever seen a company loaded with so many stupid people I am shocked they have any customers at all. That is all I have to say about Crapwire. Thanks for the nice sounding board.

I have had to deal with crapwire's bullshit for about a year now, if not more than a year. I have not cancelled my service yet only because I cannot afford a new service yet. when I DO and I WILL cancel my service, they will not get $180 from me because I will just stop adding money to my re-loadable wal-mart money card, HAHAHAHA SUCK THAT. And I will borrow a gun from someone and shoot my modem til its in tiny pieces.
This is such a bad service. I have not seen ONE positive comment from customers. Ive seen every possible youtube video and complaint on the internet from unhappy people that have fallen into clear's bear trap.
The speed is less than 1m out of 4G internet promised. I use two computers and 1 ps2 system. my video game pings are so damn high god asked me why I was throwing numbers at him. the shit internet worked well for about a week to a month, since then its pure crap. I contacted "tech support" and they always tell me the same shit reasons: "alot of people use the towers and it gets conjested" or "we are doing our best to upgrade and bring you better service" and only ever gave me this solution: "unplug your modem and plug it back in" THAT DOES NOTHING. whats unplugging it gonna do? last time I checked, the flow of electrons had nothing to do with wifi signal. DO NOT BUY CLEARWRE. cancel your payment card you use currently and trash your modem. don't let them get 1 more cent from you or your friends. I wouldnt give this internet to a damn dead frog. their so called "tech support" is just a bunch of fuckers sitting there playing computer games while they laugh at your troubles and complaints.

Id like to gear up like arnold schwartzeneggar and go rip down their head quarters. >:)

Once again, don't buy or continue using this crap.

Your friend(unlike clearwire) Anthony!

I DO NOT ADVISE CLEAR
In January 2010, I put my account with Clear on "hybernation" for almost a year. I was told to call back in January 2011 to cancel so that I won't get an early termination charge. First of all, I wasn't told by the sales rep (at the time of sell) that I was under a contract. But, since during "hybernation" I wasn't being charged I lived with it.

I called on 1/5/11 to find out the exact date to cancel because I could not remember (it had been a year at this point). The representative told me to call back on 1/19/11. So, I did that. I was told everything was okay and the account was cancelled. Well, 2 weeks later I got charged a fee. I called to find out what the charges were for. First, I was told "re-stocking" and then "early termination" fee.

I refused to pay it and have been hounded by Clear since February. I was given a bogus website "executiveescalations.clearwire.net" to clear up the matter. I am still dealing with Clear.

They can call me all they like. That's what answering machines are for. And I can turn off my ringers at night.

They can turn me over to a bill collector. I don't care. They can make an entry on my credit report. I don't care.

In short, Clear can go piss up a fucking rope before they get one more penny out of me.

Best way to deal with these assholes is to use a prepaid money card, like the Wal-Mart Visa money card. Then all you have to do to cancel is take the card to Wal-Mart and get all the money you put on it taken off. Walk away with your money and fart up clear-wire's nose.

What are they gonna do? turn me over to a collection agency? BFD. I could care less. I pay cash for everything and use paypal on the net. Clear can kiss my ass.
