I’ll come straight out and say it. I was a Clear/Clearwire Customer Service Rep. I thought it was all fine and dandy, and it paid the bills, but within the first month I realized this whole thing is a scam. The sales reps straight up lie to customers, except in the cases when they are just retardedly ignorant of the policies and services. The terms of service is so convoluted, you can barely get through that crap. If you don’t, of course, you are completely screwed because once you’re in they have you by the balls. The technology is horrible and no where near researched enough to start capitalizing on. And the speeds that they say are super fast are actually mediocre AT BEST.

When I realized that, to keep any self respect or integrity I had left, I needed to get out, I did all I could to help the customers realize what a mistake it was getting with us. Every time a customer demanded a credit (if I could accommodate them) I would grant it. Charge reversal? Fine by me, you have a valid argument (whether you did or not). I did a little happy dance every time somebody called to cancel, and I was even happier when they managed to call in the trial period and avoid getting anally-raped by Clear. When I finally cleared out my shitty little cubicle and took off from the call center, it was one of the happiest days of my adult life.

A few final messages:
To all the CURRENT CUSTOMERS: I am so sorry for what you are going through. Us customer service reps are just trying to feed our families and keep a roof over our heads. We don’t go out of our way to hurt you, that’s what corporate does. We’re trying to keep our job, and that means doing what we’re paid to do… Sorry!
To all POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS: Run as fast as you can, don’t look back. This includes you if you are in the trial period.
To all FORMER CUSTOMERS: God bless you.

~NYCC

I used to work for Clear and let me tell you that is one shady product. I used to hate telling people day after day “Oh your tower is having problems, but we have a technician out there working on it” and a week later the same tower hasn’t been fixed. Or, here’s the classic one. “Would you mind moving the modem around” and having those poor people walking around the house trying to get signal. They must have felt like idiots because I sure did. There are various factors that hamper the signal such as brick walls, double paned windows, being down in a valley or gulley…who the **** wants a product like that? We don’t even want to get into rain and snow, cold conditions. I saw people who had decent speeds at first, then their speeds would go to crap, whether it was the modem itself or the tower I’m not sure but I saw some pretty lame speeds in my day. I personally never used the service because I have Cox Cable and I have had speeds up to 30mbps! I average 20-25mbps. I didn’t believe in the product nor would I use it myself. That’s what made me leave. CLEAR/CLEARWIRE CAN HONK ON BOBO!! Get on these big ol’ Irish nuts Clear/Clearwire!!!

Hello all
I work for this company and the service sucks,
Just the other day I sold 2 voice lines to a business, I schedule time to install the lines for the customer
And when I got there, to the customers site I set up the customer and the service worked fine. After 10 minutes it went down
And never came back up, I called customer care and got an answer machine telling me to call back later.
So I waited and called back 20 minutes later same outcome.

I told the customer, to stay with AT&T because I will not let clear ruin your business
I my get fired for this but my integrity is more important.
