My issue and what I’ve done about it… – User Submission by Jameson G.
August 27th, 2010 | by Admin |This summer, I took over a Clearwire contract from another unhappy customer – my old roommate. HUGE MISTAKE!!! I was quoted a price of $40.00 a month (without increase) for 4G Wireless Internet Service by Clearwire.com. The original Clearwire equipment that I purchased didn’t work properly, so Clear sent several different versions of the equipment – but none worked. Their 4G equipment could not get and hold a proper signal. They finally sent me the (much slower) 3G/4G equipment – And, I was told that my monthly service charge would go down to $25.00 per month since the service would be much slower. Instead, my monthly service charge was doubled to $50.00 per month. I called and complained, and they lowered it to $40.00, but said that it would raise again to $55.00 per month in six months. I did not agree to this – ever! Clear.com did not provide the 4G Service OR the price that they promised. NOTE: Before switching to Clear.com, I was paying $25.00 per month with TimeWarner. I should have never left.
I have been victimized by a bait-and-switch scam by Clear.com.
This is a clear cut case of a deceptive trade practice.

What I’ve done about it:
I have filed complaints with all of the following:
The Better Business Bureau – Dallas Texas
The Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas
The Washington State Attorney General’s Office (Location of HQ)
The Federal Trade Commission
+ posted my story to ClearwireSUCKS.com and other online blogs!
There is power in numbers people – please take the time.
We’ve got to stand up against corporate criminals like this.
Tell everyone who is mistreated by Clear.com to file the complaints at the same agencies.
Good Luck & Best Wishes! -Jameson G, Dallas, TX

Don’t know who told you the 4G/3G is slower and cheaper but both are totally incorrect as the 4G/3G is exactly the same when connected to Clears super slow 4G network it just has the added ability to connect to Sprints 3G when not in a 4G area so like for example you travel somewhere that has no clear service can still use Internet on 3G.. Regular 4G modems you go to one of these non-clear service you have no Internet at all.
And because of the dual compatability it cost more be happy the lowered it use to be $70/mo for the 4G/3G.

I had a rep come to me on the 20th of August to set up internet and 4 outgoing lines to allow me to have 4 people dialing at same time out. They first set me up with 2 accounts after telling me it was $70.00 a month for the 4 lines. Not what I got. Only 2 outgoing but 4 incoming and charged me approx. $200.00 dollars. I call first thing on Monday the 23rd of August to have the matter fixed. Tey tell me I need pro voice or ring central something and a rep would call me. Well I called for 2 days and spoke to at least 10 different people of which I wrote down.About a week or so later I get a box with 4 more adapters so I call and they tell me i have been billed for 400 plus more dollars at which I said come get your product and refund me. Needless to say it is now the 7th of September and no closer to getting my money ad no-one there seems to know what is going on. I am livid!!!, I will be hunting down Ceo William Morrow,Chairman- Craig Mccaw, and Co-Chairman Benjamin Wolff for some help along with anyone elses name that I can find to handle the matter. along with filing complaints with-
The Better Business Bureau – Dallas Texas
The Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas
The Washington State Attorney General’s Office (Location of HQ)
The Federal Trade Commission/ Stay Clear of Clear!!!
