You broke my heart – User Submission by Jeremy M.

I live in Monroe Washington, on the outskirts — I’m happy to have any
internet. I was raised from the age of 4 (I’m 31 now) on dialup. From
20 minute Xmodem transfers to the creation of the WWW.

We’re talking about 26 years before any form of broadband was
available in my area, that’s quite a stretch all things considered.
Broadstripe was offered in my area, which was garbage. Yes I could
download a file faster than on Dialup but not much.

Clearwire left a pre-sorted mailing in my box one day so I figured
“hell it’s gotta beat this”. I ordered it, and with the upgrade to 4G
I was pulling serious download speeds. I only had 4 bars, but
considering my location that was amazing.

Starting in July until now things have gotten so bad I have to wait 5
minutes for my Ebay login to complete. Ping rates are terrible…
TERRIBLE.

I’m an avid gamer, even at 31. I love me some Modern Warfare 2, and
while I can game on it… but downloads are a joke. It’s only been the
last two months. I called support (HAHA, I’m a network programmer and
they know NOTHING) and they gave me a month free… which leads me to
believe they sold more than they could handle and wont be fixing the
problem anytime soon.

Clearly their reps were brought into a meeting and were told “Give
them a month off, because we blew it and it’s not going to be fixed
anytime soon”. I managed many Unix support departments, that’s what we
do…

So not only do they know what’s going on, they wont tell you and think
they can buy you off.

It really upsets me that a company can’t own up to it’s own
shortcomings. I wont go back to Broadstripe EVER, so I’m stuck with
Clear for now… just hoping that things will pick up after all the
tourists leave and kids go back to school to free up my tower.

Terrible… terrible business plan.
