Service Sucks – User Submission by Wendy M.
January 25th, 2010 | by Tim |Purchased at Lloyd Center – Portland, OR on September 5th, 2009. In-store promotion was 3 months for $22.50 Web promotion was 6 months for $22.50.
I wanted to learn more about the service and took my computer guy from work with me to the store. I decided to purchase their month to month service, but said I was going to order their product online to receive the better deal. The salesperson called their regional sales manager who approved the purchase at the web price – 6 months at $22.50. Needless to say at month 4, I was charged $45.00. I called their customer service rep and after an hour on the phone, I was told that clear decided not to honor what I was told by their salesperson. I was told that I would have to go back to the store that sold me their product and have them override the billing price. After many calls to the store at Lloyd Center, I received a recorded voice message from Jenna the agent who sold me the product. She said that the billing error had been corrected and I would receive a credit for December and billed correctly for January. Correction was never made and billing came for January at $45.00.
I again spent another hour on the phone with the customer service representative and was told that the correction had not been completed and I would have to go back to the store at Lloyd Center to have the correction made.
I started calling the store on January 11th. Jenna no longer worked with the company and the regional sales manager no longer worked for clear. I spoke with both Trenton and Michael in the store who after a week of phone calls passed me on to a regional sales manager in Philadelphia named John Laughlin on January 16th. In the meantime, our service had been shut off for non- payment. John called and left a voice message on January 18th that service had been reinstated and billing would be corrected, no one should be calling regarding non- payment. The billing error would be corrected in the next couple of days. On January 19th, received call from Clear stating that service was disconnected and billing was due for $45.00. I have left many messages for John Laughlin and called the Lloyd Center store several times and have received no returned calls.
My daughter is a special education student with a learning disability and used the internet service to help her in trade school.
Do not purchase clear services as they clearly suck!
Out of patience in Oregon!

Absolutely the worst company I have ever had the dis-pleasure of dealing with. Speeds were OK at the start but then got worse. Now down load speeds are usually about .25 MB/sec for 2MB service. Sometimes the computer just times-out trying to download. Have spent many hours on the phone but the customer service just has me move the modem around and NEVER fixes anything. Stay away from this company!

this is the most deceitful company I’ve ever been in business with. I left soon after being asked to lie to a YMCA so we could get their money. Truth is, the company cannot survive with their currecnt business practices. Unfortunately, the fat cats are making money now, and their families will be affected by their poor judgement. Same thing happened to the telecom industry 10 years or so ago. I’ve moved on, and ask all those hurt by CLEAR’s shady business practices to do the same. I’m in the army and I have actually recruited the real good talent from Clear to come work with me as Officer’s part time with great benefits. Also, a better cause, anyway…. yes.. CLEAR absolutely sucks. this is great reading material. My heart goes out to those impacted by CLEAR b/c I have been there and know what havoc they cause on the lives of normal and conscious laden citizens. ALL The best, and here is the conact info for CLEAR’s regional “Leadership” in the Carolina’s. I’m sure they’d love to hear from you.
