Clearwire Sucks – User Submission by Ken G.

January 18th, 2010 | by Admin |

Hi
I live in Dublun Ireland the firm seems to suck in every country my story.

I got a clearwire account about a year and a half ago at first it was so slow and certain ports were block after numerous calls the speed was increased ( I bought a 2 MB speed I was getting about 512 Mbits ) to 1 MB it never rasied more than that with a 10GB cap I was so dissapointed with the service however I had to wait 12 months to break the contract.

You would think that would be easy not so after several calls they agreed to cancel the account and send a return address package to collect the modem nothing happened and they still deducted the money from my account it was only after cancelling the account at my bank did they contact me and they demanded the back money I had moved to a new address and given this detail to thier support I was shocked to discover the calls were never logged I was then contacted by a repo company for the back money and the cost of the modem I check at the last address and even more shocked to discover they had not sent the return package there either.
I was also told by thier support that the account cannot be cancelled till the modem was returned they will only accept the return by post however they wont send the package for me to return the modem and are still billing me for the modem and an account that has not been used for over 8 months.

I agreed to a 1 yr contract. 2 put me in a 2 year contract. They promised to upgrade their service to the same speeds as cable within the 1st year. 1 1/2 years later and it still has not been done. Now they say the upgrade for my area is at least another year out. (in TN). And it will cost me $135 to terminate early. Why does the customer get penalized when the company does not fulfill their promises. They offered a Change of Responsibility but after this I would not recommend anyone use them.
