Dear Reader, I started my Clearwire Debacle in January of 2007.

MY Wife and I were looking for an ISP that would SUCCESSFULLY Run WoW (World Of Warcraft) a MMORPG & Connect us CONSTANTLY to the internet…more about that later.
We were told “Oh yeah it’ll run that no problem!” Lie # 1
We were also told the Following:

“We have a Policy where you can Lease the Box to BUY it, for only an ADDITIONAL $4.95/month until it’s paid off and it’s a total of $99.00.” Lie # 2
“It’s Worry Free, Hassle Free and Easy!” Lies # 3, 4 & 5
“One of our Skilled Technicians can help you install it quickly and Painlessly it’s a Breeze!” Lie # 6
“We’re open 24/7! to Accomodate your every need!” Lie # 7

There are more but there is not going to be room for everything else if I list them all…

Needless to say it’s NOT Worry Free, Hassle Free or Easy either, as evinced by my NUMEROUS Calls to those (Insert your Favorite Expletive here) at Clearwire and Clear, in both CS and Data Tech Support.

They told us that My Service was not Guaranteed to work in my area…
They told us that we were “renting” the box not “leasing to buy”…
They told us that there was no Problem with using it after Midnight MST…
The Original ‘Technician’ they sent out…ended up Creeping my wife out and asking HER how to Install it…wtf?!

I am Currently in the process of getting out of this BEYOND TERRIBLE ISP, I was sent the UPS (Print it your damn self) Shipping label and told that they will Cancel it…when they Receive the Box in Nevada…that was on 12/15/09 at 6:00-7:00pm (I was on Lunch)…BTW my Due date is for TODAY! The 16th of December, 2009… :( so they’re trying to get one last little bit out of us…even though they SAY they’ll ‘waive’ the ETF due to the ‘notes’ on the Acct from the LAST ‘Technician’ who came out to the house…which was the 4th or 5th dude who had done so…and KNEW the area was BAD from the Beginning BEFORE Clearwire even.

They told me they were sending me an Email that night, another Lie…have we lost track yet?, which I have added below and that within 24-48 hours after opening said Email the Shipping label would be sent out via Email as well…

Which is a Crock and we have had to deal with this in the past as well, ONCE you CLICK ANY of the above it only lasts so long before it SENDS it back to Clearwire/Clear, oh did I forget to mention that we went through…3 or 4 Boxes too?…

Henceforth and Forthwith I will NOT be calling these (Insert your Favorite Expletive here) ever again unless they try my patience and attempt to get MORE $ out of us, I have written a MACRO for WoW and everytime I’m online will broadcast it in the /2 Trade Channel it consists of the following which I suggest ANYONE who plays WoW should make as a Macro to Notify the ENTIRE WoW Community of this Charlatan ISP this macro is within the 255 Char limit and is simple to Create.

(Instructions in WoW Accronym on purpose :P ) login, type /m Click New, find the Symbol u want, Copy+Paste this into the Text area and then Left Click the Icon and put it in one of ur action bars.

Finally something that IS Worry Free, Hassle Free and Easy!…FOR REAL (IRL)

Any1 Interested in a BAD ISP? U should check: Clear (Clearwire) They: Lie, Close@10pm, Disable ur Connection@Raid time, Charge u 4 the Box 2 Rent, not Lease to Buy like is Promised & Refuse to Cancel it until they receive the Box in Nevada USA…Enjoy FYI

This is so no other fellow WoW Aficionados ever have to deal with ANY of the Following:

Contacting ur ISP 5+ times a week b/c you need your Box Reset or Moved or are wondering if the tower has fallen over or something,

Getting RUDE CS/Tech Support Ppl to ‘help’ u do the SAME EXACT TS every single time, even after having Documented that prior, it has been done to death,

Have MULTIPLE Truckrolls sent to ur home and greasy/slimy ‘Technicians’ invading ur house,

Watch ur Box search for 5+ hours for a Tower in the area or up to 25 miles away…when u have a tower 1/4 mile away from the house…

(This Primarily takes place after 12am, I Work from 1pm-12am, so it’s Relevant and I Specifically Asked both Clearwire AND Clear about this time frame who told me: “No problem, Trust us!”),

Have to listen to ur wife CRY as she calls u at work on ur break/lunch to Complain that the Clear Ppl won’t give her a straight answer about ANYTHING and that they basically said: “You’re Screwed.”,

Continuously Fight for FASTER than D I A L – U P Speeds, yes I’ve seen as low as 8kbps…OMFGWTF!,

Be lied to about:

Policy,

ETF,

Terms and Conditions,

Monthly Charge Changes,

Etc…blah blah blah and so forth I can go on for HOURS on how much I Hate and Despise this TERRIBLE ISP, But I should stop now, b/c my fingers are starting to Bleed.

PLEASE oh Pretty Please Involve us TOO Chad Minnick of Washington.

I know we don’t qualify as having Paid the ETF, b/c I basically Brow beat those…unmentionables into GIVING it to us without the ETF, AFTER doing more TS than I do all year and I’m a Tier 3 Data Technician for Verizon Wireless, & after my Wife called in and they couldn’t even tell her when the Contract would End if we did send back the Box…

“We are NOT Amused, If we had any Cake, we’d force them to eat Rat Poison and Die & eat the Cake ourselves.”

They need to be BANNED from the Airwaves, I petition ANYONE who has dealt with a Modicum of the B.S. that we have dealt with to step forward and Join us in this endeavor, maybe we can get an entire Email list and send it to EVERYONE on the planet who has email so that they will then KNOW.

Make sure it goes through snopes of course for those who NEED that :)

    CLEARWIRE SUCKS – I moved out of a (bad)service area to where there was no sevice at all and got my daughter to take over my (frustrating) contract to complete the contract period. Clearwire never would just give us an adddress for returning the equipment (about a year and a half now) and there is no place on their website for a siumple request. we did not have capability to print a label, nor did we ever receive one by email after several failed attempts. Of course we went to the stores and mall kiosks trying to get someome to take the equipment, but no one would – they continued to take money from my daughter’s account until she finally closed it. Now their equipment sits in a closet and we let everyone we know how horrile the service and customer service is with CLEARWIRE.

    RE: Ending Contract

    Clear,
    I have been a customer for several years in Greensboro NC. I have the Internet, wireless router, and phone service with Clear. Aside from occasional disrupts in Internet and phone services, I would say that the services was good. However, I recently I moved to Charlotte, NC. My move in date was February 13, 2010. Ever since that date, I have not been able to get wireless or phone service. My mother runs a small business off the Internet and I as well run my own small business on the Internet. After many hours of waiting and talking to Clear technicians, we still do not have Internet or phone service.
    This letter is to end my contract with Clear. I am paying for service that I am not able to get. Not only can I not get service, but me and my mother who lives with me has lost money due to the inability to get on the Internet. The final conversation with a Clear Technician was March 10, 2010. We had received a new router in the mail and the technician talked my mother through the set up process. After several attempts of trouble shooting, the wireless Internet still did not work. The technician stated that my computer or anything that I may be doing does not indicate the reason why the internet does not work. Therefore, it is no fault of mine why the Internet or phone is not working.
    I have been put in emotional distress by the following:
    • Lack of Internet Services
    • Lack of Phone Services
    • Hours spent on the phone
    • Not being able to understand technician lingo
    • Denied on-site support by a real technician (not by phone)
    • Decreased monthly income due to lack of Internet services
    • A router being shipped to me but not showing up
    • Waiting for a second router to be shipped to me

    I am shipping all the Clear equipment that I have back to Clear. I would like to be refunded for February’s services since I was not able to use the Internet for most of the month.
    It is critical for my household to have dependable Internet services. I pay for a service so I expect service. The contract agreement is broken due to no service on Clear’s end.
