Seattleites — get out of clearwire FREE, next 20 days only!! – User Submission by Ryan G.

The upgrade to Clear WiMax from Clearwire is going to result in a rate increase for many people. The rate increase is materially disadvantageous and, well, to quote from the terms of service:

http://www.clearwire.com/company/legal/terms.php :

However, if you do not wish to continue Service after a change that is materially disadvantageous to you, you may terminate this Agreement by providing written notice to Clearwire within twenty (20) days of the effective date of the modification, and you will not be charged any Early Termination Fee (as described below).

Call Clearwire. Confirm you have a rate increase. (They might agree to price match, in which case, at least life doesn’t get worse for you.) Then, write your letter and be free! Hopefully, anyway… I haven’t actually tried this yet. I’ve been waiting for a new TOS to do it when the upgrade in Seattle came along with a notice that my rates were going up… in spite of my “price for life” guarantee.
