My Clearwire Experience – User Submission by Zenas K.

November 14th, 2009 | by Admin |

I’ve had clearwire for 3 years. For 2 of those years, I had fine connection. Went maximum speed for most of the day and all is fine. Only this past year it started to slow down a lot and I’ve lost a lot of speed. I seem to only get good connection speed in the morning and the rest of the day I barely get half of what I normally get. I would have called them to see what was up with my connection, but I think they would just tell me to try different locations with the modem or coerce me into buying those ridiculous wall plugs. Supposedly they are releasing new updated modems soon in my area that will get much faster speeds, but we shall see. I will just keep quiet until then and if it doesn’t improve, then I will complain. My contract will be up in february anyway so I can be patient.

The new WiMax modems will not cover as far as the old ones. I am beeing told 2 miles from the tower will be the standard and anything outside of 3 miles will be considered outside the coverage area and will be termanated in December

Correction: 5 miles is the standard.
