November 6th, 2009 | by Admin |I am writing this email from my phone, as Portland is in a city wide state of no service. Yay.
I thought this would answer my wishes, to have more than 1.2M service. I’m even .1 of a mile from an antenna! 5 lights! I rule.
Not so fast, Tiger. It seems as long as the wind doesn’t blow and we have no rain in Portland, I’m good. But I seem to lose my awesome throughput when we have stormy wet weather. In Portland (‘Nuff Said.)
And now they tell me that city-wide, and multiple cities are down. Oh, and call back in two hours.
Oh well, I still have my quality AT&T 3g. Oh, wrong forum.
Really, I was happy the first month. But now, not so much.

I have been fighting with clearwire for the better part of two years to get even mediocre service. As I am locked into a two year contract i am tied to this joke of a internet provider unless i want to pay the ETF. I was told when i signed up that it was a ONE YEAR contract it miraculously turned into a two year. I have been calling them every couple months and on the phone for sometimes literally for DAYS. I have tried everything from moving the tower to different rooms (which carries the added bonus of moving all my other internet reliant equipment with it) to building a custom shelf at the top of my most north facing window to get a better angle to their tower TWO BOLOCKS AWAY!!! And after I complained on the phone for days at them my internet connection speeds up (suprise suprise) and only after threatening to sue them. But that doesnt resolve the issue for more than a month. Oh and I know what you mean about the weather, i live in the seattle area and if there is so much as a little overcast and a slight breeze my internet freezes up like a fish in the winter. By the way, I just switched to the new clear tower they sent me under serious duress and the internet is slightly faster now, but only if i am not using it for more than 10 minutes. It took me 3 hours to three this message fully. Alot of trial and error and copy and paste. Thank god microsoft word doesnt rely on my internet. In the end i just have this to say, i hope they have clearwire in hell to complete my eternity of suffering!
