Bad service even in Portland!! – User Submission by Teejay
November 6th, 2009 | by Tim |I am in Portland and the service is very bad, it is worse than the dial up. Every three or four days, they have an outage and I am not able to use the internet and the VOIP. They have this cancellation fee of 200 if I will cancel the service. I hate this service, they had lied about the speed etc.

Man that sucks. I live in Seattle, and my service flippin’ SUCKS. It’s weird. Last year, about the same month(November to December), my internet was fine, worked like a charm. And I lived away from the city, about 45-50 mins away from the city. At the end of December, I moved closer the city. Just a minute’s bus ride from the city/downtown area.
Reception is bad, I found a couple spots where I get 3 bars. It worked fine until this month. Internet randomly stops working, I have to do the whole unplug, yadda yadda crap. And now, even though I get 3 bars, It’s slow. SLOOOOW. I dont get it. What the Hell is going on? It’s been driving me up the wall. I remember getting a 2-year contract and now that it is over, I’ve been thinking of pulling the plug on Clearwire. If they still wanna slap an Early Cancelation Fee, They’ve got another thing coming.
It really makes no sense since this is a Major City…*sigh* and I’ve cancelled my WoW account because of this unstable connection.

I have had all the same issues and am now moving to Comcast (wish me luck). I have been told by Clear that they will let me out of my contract without penalty. A Clear tech did come to my house and determine that indeed, Clear Wireless, wouldn’t work, not the VOIP, both of which I had high hopes for. A major bummer because now I have to port my business phone number, yet again. What a hassle and pain in the booty!

I just moved to Happy Valley Oregon about 2 months ago. I decided to go with Clear because of the price. I got the most expensive package that they offer, $75 a month because I need the speed since I am a Kaplan University student. I have missed 3 seminars so far because of unreliable service. I call tech support and they tell me that there is a tower 2/10 of a mile away from here and I MIGHT BE TOO CLOSE TO THE TOWER TO GET RELIABLE SERVICE! What kind of bullshit is that. I am paying 30,000 dollars for my schooling and clear is F@#$%#@ me out of good GPA.
