Clearwire and Magic Jack – User Submission by Tim R.

October 27th, 2009 | by admin |

Well you never get the speed they say out of 2mb i am supposed to get , i really get dial up speeds and about 35kbs on downloads. There is no customer service and it wont support magic fack wich is the main reason i got the piece of junk. They are supposed to be tied in with skype but it wont work either. Dont even try to download anything bigger than about 25 mb or you will probably loose your connection before you are finished downloading it.I have moved my modem everywhere in the house and 150 feet outside in every direction and angle and nothing helps , this situation really sucks. If there is a class action lawduit against them , i want in on it!!!!!!

I had the same problem so i went to the blogs to see if everybody else was having the same problem and sure enough they were.I tried moving my modem all over the house which i have had it in the same spot for one and a half years didn’t have any problems until now I think it has to do with this wimax the new modem. I did try something that seem to work I don’t know how long though I put my modem about 5 feet in the air on a speaker and my signal came back all 5 lights or lit try to hold it up as high as it will go and side to side then check your signal while it’s in the air.Hope this helps.

I’m just one of many I suppose to have had trouble with Clearwire-my connection speed at time is fine, other times not so hot-my magic jack was totally useless, incoming call clarity fine-outgoing, unintelligible-after about three or four sessions with their technicians, changing settings on my computer etc. I purchased a broadband booster-did no good at all-finally after reading on the net about some fellow who tried a powered USB I purchased one-now my magic jack works perfect-cannot guarantee it will work for you, but they are cheap and I would advise you to give it a try-sure did work for me
