Clearwire is terrible – User Submission by Alex W.
September 10th, 2009 | by Admin |I attempted to cancel my Clearwire early, back in April 2009. I knew before calling in that there was an early deactivation fee. I called in and was on the phone for over an hour as the representative had me give every single piece of information to her. I told her repeatedly that I found it odd that my email, address, city, town, contact info was all different in her account, but I went along with it. When I received the cancellation email, it was addressed to the wrong person with the wrong account number. I attempted to call back for this to be fixed but timing was not permitting it. Sadly I had a death in the family so I had to go out of state for a few months. When I returned, I called clearwire, telling them that their representative made me sit on the phone for over an hour, ending in the canceling of the wrong account. I told them my situation and asked if there was anyway to be paid back the money that they had charged me because the only reason I still had the modem was at the fault of a dumb employee. The guy seemed happy to help and sent me an email with my account and my name. He said just mail in the modem and once the tracking number said it was received there I would just call in and I would get my money back for the few months and he said sorry about the whole mess up. Well once they got my modem I called in and there were no notes of me EVER calling in before. Which makes no sense, how else would I get the label to cancel the account. They told me it was all on me for the burden of proof, which I have none because I deleted the email that had the wrong account number. End of story, they told me I was prety much shit out of luck.
