Clearwire speed problems – User Submission by Dan M.
August 24th, 2009 | by Admin |Hey folks, how long does it take to fix speed issue?
Apparently two weeks and counting…
Clearwire decided I needed to upgrade my modem to get better, faster service.
So far, all I have seen is much slower, next to unusable speeds and heard some of the wildest tales.
Last week I was told by support that he sees the problem – the tower I am working off has a load balance problem with too many users on one side compared to the number of users using the other half of it. I was told that they had to send a man up the tower to fix the problem which would take several days to arrange.
I don’t know about you, but unless they are moving users around by switching out boards that are located at the top of the tower – that excuse made no sense. But, I waited as requested…
Today, I had waited long enough – and called again. This time they were more honest (maybe). They said they had no idea what my problem was or how long it would take to get it fixed. I was told to just keep trying it and when I see the speed problem go away – consider it fixed (???)…
They are supposed to be a professional operation, not a hobby. When you pay for something, you not only want what your paying for, but when it’s broken – a person would like some kind of support.
I’ll begin calling them every night until it’s fixed. I know that isn’t going to buy me much, but at least they can share in my pain.
