I don’t really HATE Clearwire… – User Submission by Kurt H.

August 3rd, 2009 | by Admin |

I don’t really hate Clearwire, but there is no doubt that their service is not as advertised. I live within LOS of a tower.. so have 5 “bars” on the modem no matter where in the house it is located. This should give me the bandwidth that I am paying for. Nevertheless, there isn’t sufficient bandwidth to read email, let alone stream video. Tech support wants me to walk all over the house and put the modem in different places… this is futile. Been there. Done that. The problem is not between me and the tower… it is between the tower and the net. I had heard that speed was a problem from other Clearwire users, so I tested the service fully during the initial trail period, fully intending to return everything and cancel if the service did not perform as advertised. During the trial period, it was perfect. The day after the trial period my bandwidth shrank to nearly zero, and has remained so ever since. I can’t use the service, yet am obligated to pay for it. I haven’t (yet) gone downstream on this with customer service, but in reading the reports here and on Ripoffreport.com, it is pretty clear what the results of my efforts will be. I’ll keep everyone posted. I have yet to run across a satisfied clearwire customer. Are there any?
