No signal, no service, no problem – User Submission by Nathan F.
July 28th, 2009 | by Admin |I got Clearwire about seven months ago upon moving into my new place. My girlfriend needed an internet connection immediately for school so Clearwire seemed like the obvious choice. After haggling with a rep at the mall for a while, I proudly brought home the modem and plugged her in. The tubes opened up to us, but the torrential bandwidth we’d been promised didn’t come. It was actually more of a trickle. Not to be blaisse, but the damn thing sucked.
After putting up with the hunk of junk for a couple of weeks, I called Clearwire and told them they were not providing the service they had promised and I needed them to cancel my contract. The lady I talked to said OK, and we never spoke again. God, I wished I had gotten her name.
A few months later I noticed I was still being charged for the service I wasn’t using. So I called Clearwire up. They claimed that I had never contacted anybody concerning cancellation, and that they would have to turn my account over to a collection agency if I didn’t pay up. Well, my credit rating keeps me in a situation where I can’t really fight this, so I had to capitulate.
Long story short, I have been conned into paying for a useless hunk of plastic that I can’t sell because nobody else wants.
I hate you Clearwire. Die.
