Clearwire hijacked my browser! – User Submission by Kyle
May 28th, 2009 | by Tim |Hello ClearwireSucks.com,
Early this morning (Thursday May 28th, 2009) I logged online and when I opened my web browser, any browser (i.e: Safari, Firefox, IE), my home page would immediately forward to Clearwire and it was one of their bullshit traps from what I could tell since our contract (Thank God!) is up in the next month or so trying to get us to re-up service or pick another lousy “gift” from them. NO THANKS! Every time I would try and hit the “home” button on the browser it would just immediately forward right back to the (attached screenshots) Clearwire page. Even if I hand typed a new URL, any URL, it would forward back to the Clearwire page! When I checked my preferences in my browsers they were still set to the original homepages, but it would keep forwarding to https://home.clearwire.com no matter what I did! I was their hostage until I made a (what appears to be the correct) move to end this piracy on the open internet.
The only option it gave you was to press the “No thanks, remind me later” button (though we don’t want to be reminded later, we just want them to stop this kind of crooked behavior). That took care of the highjacking matter, and I made sure not to choose any of the two proposed offers on the page either before I did it. The phone number provided, (866) 785-9428, to call is only available during regular business hours per their recorded message.
We’ve had horrible reception issues the entire time, and we live in Seattle, and their email interface and set-up, if you are using anything besides a Clearwire email address, is a complete nightmare and gives Google
carte-blanche over your info. Clearly, Clearwire belongs in the dump rotting along side all of the other garbage!
As you can see, I logged into Clearwire’s live chat and tore them a new a-hole, but they wouldn’t respond back to me, though they always have before, which was never any help anyhow.
Clearwire is an absolute joke. Stay away from it. Far, far away…
Regards,
Kyle
