May 27th, 2009 | by Tim |You don’t have to be a subscriber to Clearwire to be ripped off. I used my debit card for $69.99 to get a family member started at their residence. Made it very clear to Clearwire it was a ONE-TIME thing. No argument from them. Same month, before the family member even had a chance to provide an alternate credit card, they dinged me again. Foolish me, we called Clearwire said we know mistakes happen, but DO NOT use my card again. They agreed to send a bill to said family member. In the meantime, no bill came and family member lost his job, so couldn’t have paid anyway. Along came another hit to my account. I called my bank, they changed my debit card number and it worked for about a month. Then, bingo, Clearwire sucked almost $200 from my account over Memorial Day weekend for three months service apparently. I’ve closed that bank account. BUT, Clearwire is like the vampire that won’t die. This may not be the end. After watching Clearwire
devour me, the family member is scared shitless to try and solve things with them and all through this, of course, Clearwire doesn’t shut off service –they have a moron on the hook and why not completely bleed them dry? On Memorial Day weekend I had a heated conversation with a billing dept. rep at Clearwire, she was a shrew and it’s totally obvious Clearwire DOES suck, their people suck and their management sucks. Heard they filed for bankruptcy. I hope to God it’s true. Probably accounts for why they are so devious, immoral and money hungry. So, people, do not EVER provide your account information or credit card to these people or according to my bank, don’t do business with ANYONE who requires YOUR account info or your credit card a collateral. Inconvenient but good advice. I’ve filed a dispute over the money with my bank, but the laws of elecronic banking are in the other guy’s favor. It is akin to be a co-signer on a loan.
