Lawsuit Filed Against CLEARWIRE!

How much do I put up with – User Submission by Rachelle M.

My contract with Clearwire isn’t up until August 2010. I have been calling them on a monthly basis and more recently weekly basis to address the fact that the service is as slow as dial up yet I am paying for “high speed internet.” I truly feel like I am being scammed everytime I call.
Their last solution was to send me a new modem. I got the new modem last Thursday and the service was acceptable for about a day… maybe.
Slow again so I call tech support. They tell me they “put a ticket in with the RS engineers and it takes 5-7 days for them to check into the issue” and asked me to call back in another couple of days if I don’t hear from someone.
I have wasted so much money but refuse to pay a cancellation fee when I feel like they are the ones breaking a contract by falsely advertising “high speed internet service.” What are my rights as a consumer here???? This has been going on for far to long and I am about ready to contact my attorney general’s office.

    I had pretty much the exact same problem. And i have a few suggestions for you. First off.. make sure you have done everything they have asked so as to ensure they have no wiggle room. If they ask you to replace the modem one more time do it.. I had to. (i went through 3 modems). Then WHEN it st ops working like you k now it will. Call back and demand they waive the Early termination fee. Now they wont do it but you need to demand it any way. Then when they refuse to like you know they will THREATEN THEM WITH SMALL CLAIMS COURT. Tell them that you feel you are beeing charged for a service that you are not receiving and you intened to seek legal council in regards to this matter. You will be shocked how quickly they give you what you want.

    I had been arguing with them for over 3 or 4 months .. and in 90 seconds after i mentioned legal action my account was cancelled and i had no early terminatin fee.
