I agree that Clearwire sucks – User Submission by Michael H.
March 16th, 2009 | by Tim |Dear clearwiresucks.com/blog/,
My name is Michael and I have been having troubles with my current ISP: Clearwire. No surprises there. The service that Clearwire says it provides is not exactly the same as what you actually get, and I learned that the hard way. I have had my connection dropped, switch towers, flash at me incessantly as a Jack Russel Terrier would jump up and down in front of something it is really excited to see, I’ve had my modem swapped with another, switch more towers, rebuilt my winsock, run through several tiers of customer support (half of which is just a bunch of people with laminated cards that say “If X happens then do Y” which requires no real problem solving skills at all.)… have I made my point yet?
My average ping is around 500 ms, download speed on speedtest.net is 250 kbps, upload 200 kbps. I can’t even run a video on youtube.com without having to load it for five minutes beforehand.
It’s Sunday so the Accounts and Billing department is not open and naturally the “tech support” can’t notify the accounts department of their faulty equipment (which I have been told will not be repaired until mid May) and thus I’m stuck talking to another accounts lackey that thinks I just need to talk to tech support to fix the problem so I don’t weasel out of my contract that requires $140 to cancel (Worth a full 3 months subscription when my contract ends later this September!) . It’s almost like Catch-22. This product is a major, major, major, major disappointment and I recommend anyone that sees this to stay away from Clearwire.
I, for one, am willing to sign any petition for a lawsuit against the Clearwire corporation.
Thanks,
Mike in Tacoma, WA

Yeah, they’ve been advertising for jobs around here, and I declined after I read a few of these posts.
