Not being well versed in what speed my cable was, I called the Clearwire rep in my area, because they were advertising high speed internet for $30 on the radio. The sales rep informed me that Clearwire’s comparable service was $30 and they had an upgrade for $50 that would be even better than that. Okay, I signed up. After I get the modem and plugged it in, the speed was less than 1/2 cable speed. I was shocked and called tech support to see if I was doing anything wrong. After verifing that everything was running correctly with the strongest signal, he offered me the upgrade for the same price as cable. Suprise, surprise, the upgraded signal was still 40% less than cable!!! No thanks Clearwire, i’ll keep the cable, thank you very much.
