Yes, it does suck…big time – User Submission by P Larry.

What a great site..sure hope it helps to make sure others NEVER sign up for these rip-off artists.

I’ve signed up for a two year contract 21 months ago. Yup..that’s right…I only have three months left on my contract. I’ve paid my bills on time, early in fact, because of automatic pay.

I lost my job. As I could no longer afford to live where I was, I had to move to an area where they do not offer service.

They will not let me out of my contract without a penalty.

They have graciously offered me the opportunity to find someone else to take over my contract. I, however, don’t know anyone who wants it.

I put an ad on Craigslist, but it got flagged and removed because there has been so much fraud over this. Plus, the person would have to buy a new modem…as otherwise I would have to ship mine to them not knowing if they would break it or continue payments.

In other words, because they are rinkydink, small and unethical, I am screwed. I mean, I can understand holding someone to a contract if they are in an area where the service is provided..but man…I can’t help they are not big enough to have service in more areas.

Thanks for this blog. I sure hope it gets tons of hits and I hope these stories encourage others to look elsewhere for their internet and other communication services.

My daughter is also having issues with them. They gave her a card that doesn’t work and won’t accommodate her. So messed up.

The only way out of this contract if you have put it on a credit card is to cancel your credit card. (a lost or stolen card can be reissued without losing your account. it will have a different cc# and will not be able to be used for clearwire’s evil billing service.) When your contract is up they will yank you around and automatically renew your contract. Don’t fall for the “we didn’t receive the box back trick” Keep your UPS receipt and tracking information in a safe place. Also a letter to the attn. gen office and better business bureau should be kept on file. You will need these copies when they turn your account in for collection. Good luck

You mean to tell me that clearwire will keep on billing me when my account is up??? My two year account is up in two months… and I want OUT!!! I wanted to quit them long ago when it didn’t work much better than my dial-up. They used my credit card for automatic billing too when I paid online with it. I did NOT give them permission to do that either. What a CROOKED company.
