There Is Something Else – User Submission by Brandon B.

I used to sell clearwire through Wireless Advocates (another terrible company) in Costco. The clearwire account managers were getting us to sign up with them by telling us it would always be 50% off and there would be no contract. Just tossed us modems basically. Well, impossible to sell, Clearwire was not continued through WA and we were no longer selling it. 50% off no longer applies. Acceptable, maybe I just misunderstood them. I have given the modem to my family north of me and they just moved to a new house. Before moving I called to check the coverage, was told there was great coverage. No coverage. Checked out the map and the green circle doesn’t even reach their road.

Chatted with a guy and was informed if I cancelled my account I would receive an early term fee. Yeah, somehow I signed a contract too. Great news. My sister starts school online in 4 days and now they have no way to connect. Try talking with one of these guys? They send you to tech support as soon as they realize the blinking green lights won’t fix themselves. They refuse to hear your situation, understand it, or acknowledge it. They just care about getting money and not helping the customer when they’re in a bind. I will always refuse to accept that this is the way business is done.

I started with clearwire on a month to month Basie. A Few months later I tried the phone but it did not work, sent the phone back. By doing this clearwire said that I started a two year contract. I can’t use this services with the Internet as I could not use my netflix. Also later we are moving to an area that they do cover and yet they want a a early cancellation
    fee of $130.00.

I saw a Clearwire Kiosk in a local Mall and talked to the guy about the service. Got what you would expect..Great service here in the NAshville area and expanding out to surrounding areas in April… good speed….compare to low-end DSL…don’t have to worry about speed dropping as others come online…etc…. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO….I started digging into the company history and looking for sites just like this. Thanks to all the information here, the C- rating by the BBB (you guessed it…service quality – or lack thereof – billing practices, and meeting their end of the contract) I have decided that they are in no way shape form or fashion a company to do business with. I am sticking with my Verizon wireless broadband plane where all I need is a small USB stick and I’m on the net pretty much wherever I go. Don’t plan on playing WoW on the connection or doing heavy streaming (maybe a show from Hulu now and again but I can let it buffer enough to be smooth playback). Chalk up a win for the website and it’s contributors!!!!

JustSayingNo to Clearwire….or as they should be called StayClear! LOL
