January 28th, 2009 | by Tim |I have had Clearwire since early 2005, I signed up with them and had an agreement for a two year contract that ended in 2007. I never really used the internet much so the 1.5m that I was getting was ok. I tried to cancel my service in early December this last year 2008 and she talked me out of it stating she would wave a months fees. Well for x-mas I received a Playstation 3 with some games to play on-line, this cannot happen with clearwire so I upgraded to cable that has twice the speed 3m (I love it, cable is great and extremely fast) anyway, I went to cancel my account and they told me that I “verbally committed” to another one year contract (which I didn’t) and that it would cost me $180 to cancel. After much argument they told me they would have to research the call and call me back in two days, I called back 3 days later and they told me they needed more time, I told her this was crazy and hung up, to this date I still have not been able to cancel my clearwire, my bank cannot stop the charges on the auto deduct that they are doing to my account and they refuse to take my card number out of there system! DO NOT BUY CLEARWIRE! TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO CANCEL AS SOON AS THEY ARE ABLE TOO.
