CLEARWIRE Automatic renew my service withow my authorization and does not allow me to cancel the service – User Submission by Brian N.
January 26th, 2009 | by Tim |The service is terible in my area (Seattle, WA). I can’t use their service since September 2008 but I already prepaid my service the year. On November 2008 they automatic renew my service and charge over $500.00 on my credit card account, I call them and ask them to cancel but they did not cancel I call my credit card bank to dispute, a month the charge come back into my account I call both credit card and clearwire and still no result. Further more I bought the modem from them at the beginning of the service but on the bill they charge $59 as a lease modem. The government should do something with this company. Please help me on this.
Brian

That is such garbage. The same thing happened to my room mate and I. We’ve been charged for the past half a year for the service. When we signed up, the sales rep told us 1. we were buying the modem, and 2. he never said that the one year contract would renew itself. Now they want $200.00 for the modem we were told we’d bought initially, and they’re probably going to ask for more for not canceling within that 30 day window.

Clear Wire reps can be snakes but the ones that I have dealt with in our town have been very helpful. I have received a very good service until the beginning of the year. I started to get very sporadic speeds. I called tech support and they were very helpful and because I am a tech myself the guy I talked with didn’t give me any Bull and he found out that there was a problem on their side. I may be the odd ball out but I can’t complain about their support. They now only give you seven days to try out the service or you are stuck in the contract so REMEMBER that if you are considering the service.

My boyfriend just had a huge problem with them today! He signed a contract with them almost 6 years ago. We have moved into an area where we don’t get their signal and he called to cancel. They informed him that he still had 7 months on his contract even though he only signed a 2 year in the first place. They told him that at the end of the 2 year contract they sent him an EMAIL and that he was supposed to respond to that email in order to cancel the service. By NOT responding, he authorized them to continue the contract for another 2 years. They have done this twice! They are not saying that he has to send back the modem (that he BOUGHT) and pay the rest of the 7 months on the contract ($280!) and that was the only way they would terminate. RIP OFF ARTISTS!!!! This can’t be a legally binding extension of contract.

Ladies and Gentlemen, first of all I’m not a clearwire customer but I really really hate people who only think for themselves and don’t care about their fellow humans. Well, I know everybody is afraid to cancel their cw service, but to tell you folks the truth, clearwire is not a god. You can cancel everything anytime you want. What they doing? Answer: They are playing with your mind to get rich. if you were to smart, just cancel everything send back their stuff and don’t sent any money as they requested which is the main subject of their game and keep everything for your evidence. They will not come to your door to collect money trust me on this one. They will only send your payment just to try to play smart again to rip you off as long as they still have your infos on their system. Yes they will send you to a collection agencies just to scare you off, so you will send them what they want. Just don’t do it, and don’t just sit there and think you lose. As long as you doing the right thing you don’t have to worry about anything. If you don’t have money, call action line, they will help you.
