Stopped’em Flat in Their Tracks! – User Submission by BonnieSue
November 17th, 2008 | by Tim |I wound up canceling my bank card and ordering a new one. HA CLEARWIRE!
They won’t get another penny from me!
I moved to the other side of the same city, no Clearwire signal, they still
want me to pay the remainder of my contract. I told them flat out NO!
There was only six months remaining on my 24-month contract.
Why should I have to consult with Clearwire as to where I purchase my new
home? Stupid animals who answer their phones. My 14-year old cat has more
brains than all of those Clearwire Reps I’ve spoken to, put together!
After Clearwire discovered they weren’t getting paid, they made me an offer.
Send back the modem, in it’s original box with paper work (reckon they
thought I didn’t have this any more – HA! got’em with that one).

I am curious as to the sales tactics have been used on anyone else. I signed up on Clearwires service and have had good service. I asked specifically for a “no contract” option because I knew I was moving in 6 months. My rep set up account and all I had to do was pay for service by cc and then start using clearwire. I asked for paperwork and was told it was all online. I paid religiously and when moved out of service area was informed I could let someone else take over my “contract” or pay 190.00 cancellation fee. Imagine my surprise when I explained I received no paperwork or confirmation from Clearwire on the term of contract. My rep set up the initial setup and put the wrong email address in Clearwires database and hence I never received my 2nd notice from Clearwire on the terms and conditions. I spoke to the company and they will only charge me 50.00 extra for “activation” fee and additional 15.00 for the time I had service for a total of 65.00. I refused due to fact I never received terms and would have cancelled contract at the time I received the information that I wasnt getting what I paid for. I cancelled in plenty of time to not be charged for next months fee but they insisted I had to send back to Washington area instead of dropping off at local office. I was charged for another month of service anyways despite me not having modem and it was in transit. I am still being called and they are still trying to charge my account for 65.00. I have tried to resolve issue and even agreed to let them keep 30.53 they took for service they didnt provide and they are still insisting on the 65.00. I have involved the BBB and will go to Attorney General of Florida and will go to FCC if necessary. I am asking if anyone else has had issues with accounts being set up incorrectly in beginning to keep consumer from knowing the terms of agreement.
