I hate clearwire!! - User Submission

November 17th, 2008 | by Tim |

I was moving from Minnesota to New York and they dont have Clearwire out there so I had to cancel. I called clearwire to cancel my service a month before I was going to move out of my apartment on about July 27.They told me to call back in a month so I did around August 23. The lady I talked to told me to find someone to take over the service and I would get 40 bucks. I had no luck so I called again a couple weeks later and the lady I talked to this time insisted again that I try to find someone on Craigslist to take over the account. Still no luck and meanwhile I was being charged for service even though my modem wasn’t hooked up. The guy I talked to the next time I called tried to be helpful. He said he got the service canceled and that if I sent the modem in and there was that if the modem was never turned on I could be credited. I had been charged 43 bucks for 2 months and the modem was in a box. So I called again to make sure the modem got there and to get credit and the man I talked to this time said there was no way he could credit me and it didn’t matter if I wasn’t using it or not, I still had to pay. After talking to him about the issue for quite a while, he told me he could send a ticked to the financial department to see if they would credit me. I called today about a week and a half after I talked to him and they had credited me only 17 dollars, for half of October. That isn’t even half. Haha obviously….and the supervisor talked to this time said that service doesn’t even get canceled until they get the modem back. No one told me that!! I woulda sent the piece of shit immediately! I asked her why they didn’t tell me that and she said, “I wasn’t there, I don’t know what they said.” So I plan to be persistent and call them about it until they finally credit me full! I used Clearwire for 2 years. The second year my service was month to month! It really shouldn’t be such a big issue to cancel!
