Not only does the product suck, but their customer service is nonexistent - Customer Submission

My son was moving into an apartment near college in August. Clearwire left their ad on the apartment door and we were looking for wireless service for him and his roommate. The salesman talked us into a 2 year contract because, he said, clearwire could be used anywhere. He claimed Clearwire is comparable to Sprint and that they’d be everywhere Sprint is. That was a clear-lie! The guy dropped off the box and left; he didn’t help us connect. Then when we got ourselves connected and found how pitiful the service was, we called for service. The guy who brought the product over told us he’d come by and help. The line about being in their coverage area is a “coverage” line. That’s what we were told…and we should be getting service. Well most of the time, we were offline even after we purchased a router to boost the connection. I canceled the card they were charging since we couldn’t get anyone to talk to us and will send their box back as soon as possible. If we have to go to court, we will do that too. They seem to be at their absolute worst in college communities, preying on college students. The Universities/Colleges need to step up to product students from such ruthless vendors.

    Have them send a tech to your place to check it out and get their name when they get there and make a record of that name.Then when they can’t resolve the situation they will give you an early out with no cancellation fee. IF YOU DON’T GET THAT PERSONS NAME THEY WILL HAVE NO RECORD OF THEM BEING THERE AND WILL HIT YOU FOR THE FEE. REMEMBER CLEARWIRE IS ONE LIE AFTER ANOTHER AFTER ANOTHER.AND THEN WHEN YOU ARE DONE WITH THEM THEY WILL START CALLING YOU EVERYDAY. THE FIX FOR THAT IS TO ASK FOR THEIR SUPERVISOR AND THEN TELL THEM THAT IF THEY CALL YOU BACK AFTER 3 DAYS YOU WILL REPORT THEM
