Lawsuit Filed Against CLEARWIRE!

Clearwire Does Suck! – User Submission by Marla B.

October 27th, 2008 | by Tim |

I wish I’d have seen this before I signed on with CLEARWIRE…they are the biggest RIP OFF artists whatsoever!!!!!

I called five (5) times to let them know I could not connect to the internet and they had me disconnect the modem then plug back in and move my modem and do all kinds of “tricks” to try to pull in the service and it would kick me off within minutes after the phone call…

They never once suggested that I update to a different speed or do a “speed test” or even offer me a discount for service, never!

Then when I switched to DSL with AT & T they said that I was in violation of cancelling my “2 year contract” I told them I had no idea I was on “a contract” basis with them and at that point they told me that when I clicked on the “agreement” clause on the computer that I agreed to the terms of their contract. Never once did they verbally explain that I would be bound by a contract. That is their ploy, they do NOT disclose to you that you are on a contract, they do not have you sign a contract nor show you anything in person, once you get on the internet and accept the “terms of agreement” they state you are signing an “electronic agreement”. They are TOTALLY DISHONEST, and are deceitful in their business practices. Then when I called to cancel my service on October 15th, I spoke to a “supervisor” named Alice, after 2 minutes we were disconnected…. she never bothered to call me back so after an hour later, I called back and spoke to Byron who told me she was now “busy” and that she would call me back, I told him that I wanted to know that she would return my call and he said that he would email her and ask her so I asked him to send me that same email and he said he would….I received an email from him that was sent to my address only so I sent him an email back and told him that this was only sent to me and not to Alice, to which he responded that he had sent us two separate emails.….She never returned my call. From October 15th thru October 27th I never heard a word from Alice. When I called back on October 27th, to say my account had been charged, I was told that I had to return the modem before they would cancel my account. Never before had anyone told me that was a stipulation to getting my account cancelled. So then I spoke with Jennifer who spends most of her time stating that she “apologizes” for the company and that she will help resolve the issue. Then she proceeds to tell me that my options are to find someone else to take over the account (like I want to screw someone into doing that?) or else that I can let them “upgrade” my account to get a better speed…I tell her that neither of those options are acceptable…she then tells me that I will have to pay the “installation fee” of $50.00 and then $22.00 per month for the first three months over and above the 43.00 as that was a “discount” to sign on to a two year contract…WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!! She wants me to be happy about this? These people are THEIVES, LIARS, DECEIVING the public…they need to be exposed…BEWARE if you sign up with them, they will NOT disclose any of this information to you!!!!!
