Clearwire Screwed my email account - User Submission by A. Hammer

October 14th, 2008 | by Tim |

I had been a happy customer of Clearwire. I haven’t moved out of their service area. I live within site of their transmission tower here in Emmett. God-forgive-me, I had been telling my friends they were a good IP.

Then, out of the blue, without my knowledge or consent, they transferred all my incoming e-mail to a Clearwire mailbox powered by Google G-mail. They didn’t even notifiy me they were doing it. The only way I knew which direction to search for my missing e-mail was that the same thing had happened to my husband’s account about 3 weeks before.

Accessing the damn Clearwire mailbox was a nightmare because it involved a long forgotten user name and password which I hadn’t used in years (if ever). My husband has a seperate computer and e-mail account so he was able to help me. Otherwise, all my e-mail friends would still think I’m dead or ignoring them.

I’ve been trying with the help of all the settings on my husband’s now functional Outlook Express to restore my mail service to that mailbox. However, I’m right now writing to you from my Hotmail account because Outlook won’t let me ’send’.

What kind of lousy company $ELLS its customers to another company w/o their consent?

I had the same problem. Outlook will not work with that gmail thing, so you need to use the mail client in windows. It stinks, big time. I am looking for another e-mail client, only because there is no alternative to clearwire right now.

I’m pissed as well. They should have told people they were switching.

I was unable to log into my emails WAY before they switched over to Google Gmail. They kept telling they didn’t know why I couldn’t log in. It had something to do with their ungrading the system.

Then they switched to Gmail, so I thought well maybe now I can access my email. NOOOOPE. So I thought to myself. Well maybe I could delete the name and re do it. Hoping that I could access all my information …

Then to my surprised Gmail does allow underscore (_) … WTF … I was so pissed because that meant no matter what I did. I could have NEVER gotten any of my emails, password, etc.

They’ve made me so FREAKING mad. Not only did they not warn people (so they can take the proper steps of securing their email and information) … they seem like that don’t care.

Hanna: I know what you mean. I have Vista and for some reason, even though I’ve made a new email I cannot access it in Windows Mail (Vista)

I have followed all the steps that Clearwire and Google (gamil) have told me and it keeps popping up that my email and password are wrong, when in deed they are not. And I know for a fact that they’re right because I am able to sign on to Clearwire google email. I guess I’ll have to stick with aol.
