Everyone needs to contact their local news media consumer ripoff reporter. The bad publicity will kill Clearwire's business. Tell everyone you see. When you go places that have Clearwire and see someone looking at the services, TELL THEM your stories. I tell everyone I see. I actually cancelled my bank card so they can't take anymore of my money. I also threatened them with my attorney and I will sue them if they pursue anything from me. I am done playing "lets move the modem around the house until I get a signal" game.
Good luck.

On August of 2007, we signed up for Clearwire Internet with Best Buy. They did not disclose that thet have limited coverage, we lived in Orange Park area where they have service. After living for a year in the Orange Park area, my family decided to move to Argyle. We called Clearwire to inform them that we were moving and they said that they have no problem if we move, since they have signal anywhere we go and so that is what they claimed. After moving to the Argyle area last week, first week of October, we experienced difficulties in connecting or getting online. After numerous attempts to troubleshoot and call the Clearwire Company, they finally ordered a TECHNICIAN to come out. The tech, Christopher Halemberger said that we were out of coverage area and that we really could not get online or much a signal out where we lived in. He confirmed that there was no signal even a weak one. After arguing with Clearwire and several phone calls and after a Tech came out and affirmed that there is no signal out where we live, CLEARWIRE is still steadfast and strong to say that WE WILL BE PAYING $40.00 MONTHLY FOR THIS EVEN IS WE HAVE NO SIGNAL. THEY ALSO WANT US TO PAY THE TERMINATION FEE EVEN IF IT IS NOT OUR FAULT THAT THEY HAVE NO SIGNAL. At first, Clearwire said that they were going to waive the termination fees but now they said that still holds even if we have no signal out here and have no recourse but to terminate the service.

Tim--they did the same to us. We know of NO 2 year contract, we had paid in advance, $900 for the year and cancelling early. Then told we have to pay the same disconnection fee. Have lost calls, everyone sez we sound like we're talking in a submarine, and internect connection is back in the 80's slow. I do not recommend them to anyone !!

It's a start - hopefully do get rid of their ETF.

Its there just to lock customers in so they can't get out when they realize the service isn't reliable. It's not to subsidize any costs for equipment like the cell phone companies.
